What is French Music. Only the french touch. Or the old french nostalgie : Piaf, Montant, Barbara. In that period on global exchange, has local music a chance to develop and emerge in front of huge machines like Microsoft, Universal and France Telecom.

French Music of yesterday

In the past, french music and french itself was the territory of sensitivity, fashion and luxusness. The music Hall was at its "apogee". With Edith Piaf, Yves Montant, Writers like Georges Brassens, French music was strongly shared by people and medias. Then, after the 2nd world war, american music and english music took a great place and slowly pushed away local music. The young generation was more interested by the beatles, the rolling Stones or the queen than Charles Aznavour.

French music of today

Today, the music in France has completly changed. All the external influences have been integrated in the music and the old authors seem to come to the front of the stage. The gap has been collapsed between all the generations and the french music is rich and multiple.

French music of tomorrow

With their victory in electro, french composers have proved that it was possible to export music all around the world. French songs would have of course more difficulties to be understood by all but why not imagining a french music well apreciated and respected in New-York or in Istanbull.
